雷富民，男，生于1965年，祖籍陕西省渭南市，博士，研究员，博士生导师；中国科学院大学教授，鸟类学研究组组长。国家杰出青年科学基金项目获得者，国家高层次人才计划重点领域“动物进化与系统学“创新团队负责人，万人计划领军人才，入选百千万人才工程。

1994年于中国科学院动物研究所获得博士学位。1996年晋升副研究员，2000年晋升研究员。发表论文、论著400篇（部），其中Science, Lancet, Nature Climate Change, National Science Review, PNAS, Annual Review of Animal Biosciences, Nature Communications, Science Advances, Systmatic Biology, Molecular Biology and Evolution, Molecular Ecology, Global Ecology and Biogeography等SCI源刊论文180余篇。

目前主要从事鸟类系统演化、谱系生物地理、特殊环境适应的比较基因组以及禽流感溯源与病源生态等方面研究。研究重点集中于探讨：鸟类特有化与多样性生物地理格局的形成与维持机制；鸟类谱系分化与新种形成机制；鸟类适应环境变化的比较基因组及适应性进化机制。

• 2000年曾获第四届“郑作新鸟类科学青年奖”。
• 2003年“黑脸琵鹭”获得第9届华表奖。申请者为首席科学家。
• 2004年“黑脸琵鹭”获得第24届金鸡奖。申请者为首席科学家。
